One mom's attempt at maintaining a little slice of sanity in a house full of boys...
I've learned that you have to tell people when you're upset, instead of holding it all in. It's much healthier that way. But, I've also decided that I'm not going to let people offend me anymore, that gives them too much power. So, let it out, it feels better than being "backed up"
That's what I tell my kids - I'm not very good at taking my own advice. My oldest internalizes things until he reaches his breaking point. My middle son is pretty easy going. Things don't really get to him, and if they do, he bounces back quickly. My 4 yr old just wants to pummel anyone who offends him - we're working on that...
My goodness ! (((HUGS)))
elle: I loved your C's. I thought I had commented-went back today and ta-da! No comment! Oops! And that son of yours! My goodness if he doesn't look like his daddy! No denying HIM is there? As for your 4 yo...I have been having a real trial with my 3 yo and his attitude...I don't know-behavior? I almost feel like I have no 'control' over him sometimes and that frightens me a bit. You know-like I have to maintain control NOW or I will lose it forever. Just thoughts all running away with me!Be well.
I find the 'fearsome fours' much worse than the 'terrible twos'. I'm slowing giving up on the idea of control (not easy for a control-freak like me). And you're right about the kids looking like dear hubby. In fact that's DH's (lame) joke to anyone who comments: "We know who the father is...we're trying to find out who the mother is." (Har-dee-har-har. He can be such a goober.) ;-)
