total weight loss: -11.2 lbs
I'm down 1.2 pounds since last week. I can't say I did anything differently, other than drinking more water and choosing my desserts wisely at the charity tea I attended on Sunday. I did indulge in what they called a "pinkie" (champagne and cranberry juice, which is high in antioxidants).
I had a couple of cucumber sandwiches which I figured, despite the cream cheese, would be a better choice than the chicken salad sandwiches. When I came for the desserts, I selected the chocolate covered strawberries. More antioxidants (the chocolate)! I must've looked 10 years younger by the end of the tea. Plus fruit! When the tray of other little must-tries passed by - like the cheesecake bites - I shared them with my sister-in-law.
So this is what I'm reduced to: splitting a cheesecake bite with another person. The pain is dulled by 1) the fact that I'm reduced 11.2 pounds to date, and 2) the pinkie. :-)

I so LOVE your restraint! Congrats on a slow steady weight loss! I thank God that Antioxidants are in Chocolate and Whine- Wine My bad! LOL
Be belessed this week elle!
John
Thanks, john! Dear Hubby's best friend just lost 12 lbs in two weeks on the South Beach diet. I did well on that one too a few years ago, but it required so much planning (okay, cooking) that I just couldn't stick with it. Slow and steady wins the race!
Way to go Elle and that's pretty good discipline really :)
Thanks, shionge. It's hard work, but I hope the pay off will be such that I'll stick with it for life. Unfortunately if you think of a diet as a temporary thing, then chances are the weightloss would be temporary.
Awesome job! Sometimes all we need is a little taste.
Great job Elle!
That's the challenge for me, nise' - stopping at just a taste.
Thanks, sue!
That's great! I've heard good things about weight watchers...of course I'm not good at sticking to diets. And the first thing I thought about was all the preservatives in those weight watcher meals. Can you eat regular food too? Or just those frozen meals I see in the grocery store?
Flip Flop Mamma, the beauty of Weight Watchers is that you can make it as complicated or as simple as you want. I'm not a big cook, but I eat a lot of steamed veggies and grilled fish. In our meeting group, there's one vegan, one who eats organic only, several who only eat pre-processed convenience foods. It's good to see you back blogging!
Good for you! That is great progress in a week. Sorry I haven't been around much to visit, I'll try to stop a bit more often. Congrats!
Oh eek, I have recently put on 5 pounds and am feeling blubbery. Yuk! I travel a lot for my job and so that doesn't help - constantly restaurants and buffets. ~sigh.
Hi chicky, that's quite alright. I do still stop by your blog, but I don't always have the chance to comment (multi-tasking and whatnot).
Welcome, maryam. That's pretty much how I started - dining out with work colleagues, etc. Of course, I've been a stay home mom for 5 yrs and I'm still piling the weight on so that's not my only excuse. All told I'm averaging a bit more than -1 lb per week so I'm going to be at this for a loooonnnnnggggg time.
